Cookie Policy

How we use cookies on DocCraftr — written clearly, without the legalese.

Last updated Minimal cookies Always in your control
📅 Last updated: 📄 Version 1.0

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how DocCraftr uses them, and the choices available to you. Most of our tools run entirely in your browser and use no cookies at all — but we believe in full transparency about the ones we do use.

🍪
Section 01

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are sent back to the originating website on return visits, allowing it to remember information such as your preferences or session state.

We also use similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These store data locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. Throughout this policy, "cookies" refers to all such technologies unless stated otherwise.

💡

Browser-based PDF tools on DocCraftr process files entirely on your device and do not access or set any cookies whatsoever. The information below applies only to your general browsing experience on the site.

⚙️
Section 02

How we use cookies

We use cookies for four purposes only. We do not use cookies for any purpose beyond what is listed here:

  • ✓Essential operation — keeping the site functional, maintaining temporary processing sessions for server-side tools, and preventing abuse.
  • ✓Preferences — remembering your chosen theme (light or dark mode) so it persists across visits without you having to reselect it every time.
  • ✓Analytics — understanding aggregate usage patterns (which tools are used most, where traffic comes from) so we can improve the service. No individual profiles are ever built.
  • ✓Advertising — DocCraftr is funded by non-intrusive advertising. Ad partners may set cookies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. We do not permit behavioural targeting without your explicit consent.
🔒

We never sell your data. We never use cookies to track you across other websites. We never build personal advertising profiles on our own systems.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on DocCraftr are set by third parties when their services are embedded in our pages. We have no direct control over these cookies. The main third parties are:

  • →Google Analytics — website analytics. Opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • →Google AdSense / Ad Manager — advertising. Manage Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
🛡️

We only work with advertising partners who agree to our data processing terms. Third-party cookies cannot access the content of your PDF files under any circumstances.

Section 05

Your choices

You have full control over cookies on DocCraftr through the following methods:

  • ✓Cookie consent banner — on your first visit you can accept all, essential only, or customise preferences. Change your choice any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
  • ✓Browser settings — all modern browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality.
  • ✓Ad opt-out tools — opt out of interest-based advertising via Your Online Choices (EU) or Digital Advertising Alliance (US).
  • ✓Google Analytics opt-out — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to be excluded from all Analytics statistics sitewide.

Section 06

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, DocCraftr does not alter its data collection practices based on them.

You can use the opt-out methods in Section 05 at any time to control cookies and tracking regardless of your DNT settings.

Section 07

Policy updates

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. Material changes will be indicated by a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, a notice on the website.

Continued use of DocCraftr after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Previous versions are available on request.
